Microsoft accidentally revealed an internal test version of its research design project “Tulalip” yesterday. A teaser landing page has been revealed by Fusible and it appears to be a new “Social Search” service by Microsoft as shown below. The company has been hosting these new details at www.socl.com. New ‘Protogon’ File System in Windows 8 ?

IT World’s Sando Villinger has some interesting findings in Microsoft’s next generation operating system – Windows 8. One of the known or unknown hidden features that various people have discovered since internal builds began leaking over couple of months is the new file system – Protogon. Microsoft recently demonstrated Windows 8 features in a press release. From the IT World article, I’ve also dug up traces of some underlying file system changes that I couldn’t quite make sense of, such as an entirely new file system driver called “NT Protogon FS driver”, which looks like a kernel mode driver for some sort of (yet unknown) file system called Protogon....

Windows 8 Comes With New Look, Touch And Start Screen

Microsoft has given a demonstration of their next generation operating system calling Windows 8. It appears to be a complete revamp of the Windows interface, designed around a tile system like that of Windows Phone 7, and focused on being equally accessible via touchscreen interface or mouse and keyboard. WP7 Mango Includes Web Based Marketplace

Just like Apple’s App Store, Google’s Android Market and Amazon’s Appstore for Android; Microsoft announced a web based version of Windows Marketplace in conjunction with WP7 Mango roll-out. 500 New Features in Windows Phone 7 Mango

Microsoft yesterday provided the first look of the next release of Windows Phone code named “Mango” bringing 500 new features. This update will be available to all WP7 devices starting from Fall and the Redmond based firm also announced that new devices from Acer, Fujitsu, ZTE and Nokia (?) will come preloaded with Mango later this year.
