Microsoft today opened pre-orders for a $59.95 wireless display adapter that wirelessly connects any Miracast-enabled device with at least Windows 8.1 or Android 4.2.1 to a HDTV, monitor, or projector.
It’s similar to Google’s $35 Chromecast, but does not require specific apps — you can stream anything on your device to the TV with Microsoft’s device. Chromecast only mirrors screen content from a Chrome browser, or from any Android device.
